RAS AL KHAIMAH // A British climber died after falling off a mountain in Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday.

Sources at Saqr Hospital, in RAK city, said 22-year-old Jack Snowden was taken there immediately after his fall but that he had already died from multiple injuries caused by the fall.

National Ambulance had received a call reporting the incident and an ambulance and a helicopter from the Sharjah Air Wing were dispatched to the scene, at Jebel Jais. However, Snowden was dead even before the helicopter arrived at 12.14pm.

A spokesman for the British Embassy said: “We are providing consular support to the family of a British national who has died in the UAE.”
