DUBAI // Two men denied impersonating police officers, kidnapping and raping a maid and assaulting her friend when they appeared at Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors said jobless Pakistanis, N N, 36, and A K, 28, allegedly stopped Filipina A B, 29, as she was leaving Al Safa park with B R, 28, from India, in November 2013.

A B said that she was at a party when she received a call from B R asking to meet.

“I thought B R wanted to return Dh1,500 to me, so I went to meet him at the park. When we left around 5.30pm, we were stopped by N N and A K who told us they were CID officers,” A B said. “We begged them not to take us to the [police] station, but they forced us to get into a white van.”

N N took the maid’s phone and Dh300 from her purse and took B R’s wallet.

“When we implored them to let us go, N N hit me. Then they stopped the van and pushed me out,” B R said.

A B said she begged N N to let her go. He told her that he would only do so if she pleasured him. “He told me to lie on the back seat. He then came and raped me, then A K raped me,” the maid said.

N N and A K denied all the charges against them. The next hearing is on June 21.
