Blessed parents welcome Eid babies in Abu Dhabi

Lucky parents welcomed their newborn babies in the first hours of Eid Al Fitr.

Reda Suleiman and Danya Salah were thrilled to become the parents of the first Eid Al Fitr baby born in the UAE.

The Arab national couple welcomed their baby at 12:00am on the first day of Eid at Burjeel hospital in Abu Dhabi.

The mother said that having a baby in Eid is the best gift ever, “This is one of the happiest days of our lives, having this beautiful and healthy baby is the best Eid gift ever. We would like to thank Burjeel Hospital for safely delivering our baby,” said Ms Salah.

“We are so happy that we have been blessed with a healthy baby on this special occasion. The medical and nursing team at Burjeel Hospital have been fantastic,” said Mr Suleiman.

Seven other newborns were born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi during the first few hours of Eid Al Fitr.

Majed Al Awbathani was grateful to become a father for the first time after he welcomed his baby girl Fatima at 12:35 am.

“The birth of our baby during the first day of Eid was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is doubled for us,” said Mr Al Awbathani.

“She is our first baby and we have named her Fatima. We are very thankful for this blessing. From here, we would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day,” he said.

Baby Fatima was due in a week but she decided to join her parents on the first day of Eid.

“The baby was due in a week but with Allah’s will she joined the family on this special occasion for all and doubled the joy of her parents and ours. Both baby and mother are in good health,” said Dr Tina Kokalj, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at Danat Al Emarat Hospital.

The second baby was born at 3:09 am and weighed 3.5 Kg.

“The baby is in good health and we have named him Sultan. We are extremely happy to have him join us during the early hours of Eid Al Fitr. We would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day,” said the Father, Hussain Al Menhali.

One week overdue, Baby Mayar finally chose to make her entrance into the world and join her two siblings on the first day of Eid at 3:31 am.

“Baby Mayar is our third baby – she has a brother and sister who have been waiting for her. Born on Eid, our celebration is now doubled. We were expecting her last week, but with Allah’s will she joined us on first day of Eid. And on this occasion, we would like to congratulate our UAE leaders, government and the Islamic Nation on this holy occasion,” said her Emirati father, Engineer Abdulla Alseiari.

Mariano Gonzalez, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital said that during Ramadan, a total of 350 were born at our hospital, including 170 boys and 180 girls.

“Out of the 350 newborns, 179 were UAE Nationals. We also welcomed 12 twins and 1 triplet during the Holy month,” said Mr Gonzalez

“Including our 7 newborns born at the hospital after Eid was declared and until the early hours of first day of Eid and we expect to welcome another 5 babies by end of today," he added.
