ABU DHABI // The Bangladeshi Embassy will tomorrow start to repatriate bodies of the victims from Monday's lorry and bus crash.
The first group of eight bodies will be flown to Chittagong in the country's south east.
Ten others are due to be flown to Dhaka on Monday night, with one to Sylhet in the north east.
The body of the 20th Bangladeshi victim still needs police clearance because it has not been identified, although the embassy is certain he is one of its citizens.
"Due to the large number of bodies and their destinations, the mission will send them in different aircraft," said Mohammed Shahadat Husain, counsellor at the embassy.
Repatriation will continue throughout next week, depending on clearance from the police, Mr Husain said.
Costs of repatriation will be borne by the company for which the men worked, but if payment is delayed the mission will cover it and push to be repaid later.
Mr Husain said time was of the essence, because families were waiting for the bodies to arrive home.
