AJMAN// A teacher was injured after a fire broke out in an air conditioning unit at a private school on Monday afternoon.
The teacher was trying to put out the blaze in a store room before fire fighters arrived when he suffered minor injuries.
Col Nasser Rashid Al Zari, head of Media and Public Relations at Ajman Civil Defence, said crews prevented the fire from spreading to classrooms.
He urged schools to ensure the safety of electrical wires, store items correctly, provide fire extinguishers and maintain alarm systems.
