AJMAN// Ajman Municipality recently organised a veterinary camp in Al Helio for local farmers.
The camp helped farmers identify diseases in livestock and camels as well as the necessary treatment methods and prevention, said Yahya Ibrahim Ahmad, general director of the municipality.
“This is not the first time that the municipality has organised this camp. It was organised once before and received many messages of thanks from Emirati farm owners,” Mr Ahmad said.
Animals examined included camels, horses, goats, deer and ostriches.
“For owners who could not come to the camp, the team went to their farms using a mobile veterinary clinic,” Mr Ahmad said.
Khalid Moein Al Hosani, executive director of Public Health and Environment sector, said the department is seeking to combat common animal diseases through mobile vet clinics.
He pointed out that a new vet laboratory will be completed soon.
