The Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company will outline the progress of its multi-billion dirham Strategic Tunnel Engineering Project (Step) at next month’s WaterWorld Middle East Conference and Exhibition (WWME) in Abu Dhabi.

The ADSSC is undertaking an extensive expansion of its collection network to address the rapidly growing demand for potable water in the emirate due to a rapidly growing population, which is forecast to exceed five million by 2030.

The conference will also host a session on Wastewater Reuse Technologies that will focus on case studies associated with moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), ultraviolet (UV) treatment and reed bed technology.

ADSSC collects and treats waste-water discharged from all residential and commercial customers in Abu Dhabi and disposes off solid as well as liquid waste. Its waste water treatment plants are located in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
