ABU DHABI // A veterinary pharmacy in Al Wathba has been shut down by authorities for breaching regulations.

Fares Al Arab Veterinary Pharmacy practised without a licensed veterinarian and failed to renew expired licences, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.

Inspectors from Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority had repeatedly warned the business about the violations since the beginning of the year and had issued a final warning and fines.

Thamer Al Qassimi, spokesman for the authority, said the pharmacy would remain closed until it had rectified the situation.
