Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was presented with an artwork by Malala Yousafzai at the Sea Palace in the capital yesterday.
With Sheikh Mohammed is his nephew, Zayed bin Abdullah bin Zayed, and Malala’s father, Ziauddin, on the far left.
Malala, 15, was shot in the head by the Taliban last year for promoting education for girls in Pakistan.
She visited Abu Dhabi to thank the UAE and Sheikh Mohammed for supporting her after her ordeal and during her recovery.
Sheikh Mohammed said it was the duty of all people to stand by Malala.
