ABU DHABI // A bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of being a drug dealer.
Police, working on a tip-off, arrested the defendant as he finished work in Mussaffah Industrial Area.
After a search the 36-year-old, Q H H, who is accused of possessing heroin, marijuana, and crystal meth, was found with rolls of foil that contained some of the drugs.
Upon questioning, the Pakistani told police he had more drugs at home.
There, police found 336 capsules of heroin weighing 3 kilograms, in addition to 25 plastic rolls containing what was believed to be crystal meth.
Police officers also confiscated a scale they believe was used to weigh the drugs.
During an interrogation, Q H H told police he was waiting on a phone call to deliver the drugs to a buyer.
“It is through this effective coordination that we were able to arrest the bus driver suspected of possessing drugs and shatter his dreams of obtaining counterfeit wealth,” said Col Dr Rashid Borshid, head of CID.
“The success of this operation complements the chain of successes that Abu Dhabi Police have had in thwarting drug dealers.”
