ABU DHABI // A bus driver allegedly raped a teenager and then threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police, the Criminal Court heard on Thursday.
The father of the 14-year-old boy told the court he saw bruises and scars on his son’s body, and noticed an unusual change in his behaviour.
“He seemed scared after returning home, which aroused my suspicions that something wrong had happened to him,” said the father.
After much prompting, the victim told his father that a man had led him into a vacant bus and raped him. The man then threatened to kill the boy if he reported the incident to anyone.
Police apprehended the suspect after the victim’s father informed them of the incident, prosecutors said.
The defendant denied the charges during the course of the investigation and when he was present in court.
A verdict will be announced on January 28.
