DUBAI // A man was arrested at Dubai airport with almost 100 capsules of heroin in his stomach, a court heard.
Prosecutors said Pakistani H K, 27, entered the country on January 2 this year and was stopped by inspectors after staff noticed he was acting suspiciously.
“I asked H K if he had anything to declare with him,” said Emirati officer M M. “He answered me no and I took him to the X-ray machine to see if there is something in his body.
“We found weird items in his stomach and we asked him what it is, but he failed to answer because he only speaks Pashto,” said the 24-year-old officer.
Officer S S, 33, took H K to Rashid hospital were he confiscated the drugs.
Forensic reports stated that H K had 99 heroin capsules in his stomach weighing a total of 727 grams.
At Dubai Criminal Court H K entered a plea of guilty to a charge importation of drugs with the intent to sell.
A verdict is expected on May 13.
