Teenager flown to hospital after Sharjah quad bike accident

A 19-year-old woman was flown to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a quad bike accident in Sharjah.

The Omani teenager was riding in the Al Hamriya desert when the incident occurred.

The alarm was raised with Sharjah Police on Tuesday evening.

Due to the severity of her injuries, a helicopter from the National Search and Rescue Centre was sent to the scene.

“The case called for quick response due to the seriousness of the woman’s injuries, therefore the site was checked by operational systems and teams were dispatched,” the centre said.

The woman was taken to Sharjah's Al Qasimi Hospital.

No details on the cause of the accident were disclosed.
