Umm Al Quwain Police have announced a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines to mark the UAE's 50th anniversary.

The scheme started on September 1 and ends on September 5.

Traffic offences committed before August 1 are eligible for a discount.

Individuals who have flouted Covid-19 safety rules, and motorists who committed serious traffic offences, such as reckless driving that endangered lives or made unlicensed modifications to a vehicle’s engine, are exempt from the scheme.

Police said people can pay the discounted fines on Ministry of Interior app and other online channels.
