ABU DHABI // Almost 150 cocaine capsules were seized from three passengers at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Customs inspectors working the night shift at the airport became suspicious of a Nigerian passenger. During a routine search they found 18 cocaine capsules, weighing a total of 206 grams.
Inspectors then searched two other passengers on the same flight and found another 128 cocaine capsules, weighing a total of 2,574 grams.
The three passengers have been detained and referred to the concerned authorities.
Mohammed Khadem Al Hameli, acting director general of the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, praised customs inspectors for protecting the UAE and maintaining its security.
