Police have arrested two gangs suspected of being involved in a robbery by bogus policemen.
The arrests were made after a man said he was approached by three men claiming to be police officers who demanded almost 1 million Saudi riyals (Dh979,000).
The man, 20, gave them the money at the port area in the Western Region on September 5.
Police tracked down the two gangs. One is suspected of carrying out the robbery, and the other of trying to smuggle the money out of the country.
Col Ojail Al Junaibi of Western Region Police said 10 gang members were UAE residents working in a variety of jobs. Four were Arabs and six were Asian.
The investigation continues.
