ABU DHABI// Indian Ambassador TP Seetharam has praised the quality of services offered to inmates in the UAE’s punitive and correctional facilities.
The ambassador cited findings of a survey conducted by the embassy stating that 10 per cent of prisoners interviewed said they would prefer serving out their sentences in the UAE, rather than in their home country of India, should an extradition treaty be signed.
“The surveys’ findings are reassuring. We received no complaints from inmates about their treatment, or about healthcare, rehabilitation or recreational services,” he said.
