      Vanessa Ghanem is The National’s Arab Affairs Editor, based in Abu Dhabi. She oversees coverage of Arab and Gulf affairs with a focus on geopolitics, diplomacy and geoeconomics. She has over a decade of experience reporting on the Middle East and has worked in prominent newsrooms in the region. Vanessa has interviewed senior officials and policymakers, including US special envoys and congressmen, foreign, defence and economy ministers in the region and beyond, as well as UN and EU officials. She regularly moderates panels at international forums and serves as master of ceremonies. Vanessa has also covered business, energy and socio-economic issues, with her work appearing in outlets such as Al Arabiya, Al-Monitor, CGTN, LBCI Lebanon and An-Nahar Newspaper, among others.
