Melissa is an art correspondent for The National. Originally from New York City, she studied comparative literature at Princeton University and film aesthetics at Oxford. She is the author of Contemporary Art and Digital Culture. From 2007–2014 she lectured on contemporary art at Oxford University's Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art and co-edited the journal Afterall, based in London.

The Arab artists behind the Gulf landmarks that grace Montblanc’s new collection

We talk to some of the Arab calligraphers, including two Emiratis, who created designs, based on iconic buildings from their home countries, for Montblanc's new collection of writing instruments. The drawings that debuted at Yas Mall are on display at The Dubai Mall, after which they will be exhibited at Montblanc boutiques across the GCC.
