Hues of gold are a staple feature in the shimmering aisles of Lebanese designer Elie Saab's couture house. So it follows that a fragrance inspired by the creations within would look to ingredients inspired by the shade – from warm honey nectar and titian orange blossom to glossy ylang-ylang.
Award-winning French perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the nose behind Dior’s Cologne Blanche, the My Burberry fragrances and Elie Saab’s original Le Parfum, has created the limited-edition Le Parfum Éclat d’Or – a scent “as dazzling as a gown stitched in gold thread”.
The new collector’s-edition eau de parfum is a bouquet of floral scents, with notes of Brazilian orange and orange blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang and strong hints of rose honey. The woody warmness of patchouli ensures there’s nothing cloying about its sweetness.
Contained within a prism-like jewelled bottle with golden facets, the women’s fragrance is now available from leading department stores in the UAE, and costs Dh415 for 50ml.
