Bringing back memories of his success at London 2012, Mo Farah has won the 10,000m gold for a third successive time with a stunning performance.
The four-time Olympic champion Farah, 34, defended the title he retained in Beijing two years ago. Tonight’s victory was Farah's sixth world title.
The star athlete received a standing ovation following his spectacular win, with a time of 26:49. This is is his best time since 2011.
The dramatic race saw Farah stumble just 200m from the finish line but he was able to recover.
Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda was second in 26:49.94 with Kenya's Paul Tanui third in 26:50.60.
Meanwhile, Usain Bolt won his 100m heat in 10:07 to reach semi-finals tomorrow. He described his run as “very bad”, despite winning.
Farah has six world titles and four Olympic golds. He will be retiring at the end of this season.
