Up and down in the Premier League

We look at three players who had a good and bad day in office as the Premier League enters the final round.
  UPs
Clint Dempsey, Fulham
The midfielder's strike in the win over Sunderland made him the first American to score 50 goals in the Premier League. His 17 goals this season have Fulham in a lofty eighth place with a game left. A move to a bigger club awaits.

Djibril Cisse, QPR
The striker has missed more games than he has played for QPR after two red cards since his January arrival. But he also has five goals in six matches including the last-minute winner against Stoke City which puts survival in QPR's hands.

Alan Tate, Swansea City
Tate would have been a first-choice in Swansea's maiden Premier League season, had he not broken his leg falling off a golf cart in August. He made only his sixth appearance against Manchester United, where he started his career.

DOWNs
Liam Ridgewell, West Brom
The centre-back was at fault for one of the strangest own goals this season, against Bolton. Trying to clear the ball with his favoured left foot, when it merited the right, it hit teammate Billy Jones on the forehead and went in.

Bacary Sagna, Arsenal
The French right-back suffered his second leg break in a year and is out of Euro 2012. Tough to swallow but he was out of order to accuse Bradley Johnson, the Norwich City defender, of deliberately trying to break his leg after an accidental collision.

Danny Rose, Tottenham
Speaking of leg-breaking challenges, the Spurs wide man hurt his side's Champions League chances after a red-card tackle on Aston Villa's Alan Hutton, who himself put West Brom's Shane Long out for a month in October with a similar challenge.
