ROME // David Trezeguet was relieved to end a long scoring drought to help Juventus capture their second victory at the Stadio Olimpico this season. Juve beat Lazio 2-0 on Saturday night with Trezeguet registering his team's second goal of the night and his first since February. "To have scored tonight gives me a lot of confidence for the future," said the French striker. "It is a really nice feeling after a long time. Last season I suffered a lot because of injury that ruled me out for several months and because, for different reasons, I wasn't able to contribute to the team.
"But my teammates have helped me a lot and today I feel as though I have returned to play at a high level. I was able to play from the start and the team played a great match." Juve, who won 3-1 at Roma in the previous round, showed no signs of slowing down as they remained perfect in Italy's top flight after three games played. Juve coach Ciro Ferrara praised Terzeguet after the game, saying: "This season I need the contribution of every player in the squad.
"Trezeguet's goal will give him calmness and I thought he deserved to play the entire game." The only setback for Ferrara's side was the injury sustained by Brazilian playmaker Diego. Diego was substituted shortly before the break with a right thigh injury. The South American play- maker is doubtful for tomorrow's Champions League match against the French champions Bordeaux in Turin. "I feel a bit of pain," said Diego. "But I hope it's nothing serious. Tomorrow I will undergo tests to see the extent of the injury."
In Saturday night's other game AC Milan followed up their 4-0 defeat in the Milan derby with a dull 0-0 draw at promoted Livorno. * PA Sport
