Real Madrid

Manchester United have made a bid for Real Madrid's Spanish international Sergio Ramos, according to reports in the British press.

Both The Independent and the Daily Mail report that a bid of between £30-35 million (Dh173-203m) has been lodged for Ramos, 29, who is said to be unhappy that he has not been given a pay rise at Madrid.

It is reported that the bid from United is separate to Madrid’s interest in signing goalkeeper David De Gea from the English side. Madrid are said to value Ramos at £46m.

Ramos, whose brother Rene acts as his agent, was rumoured to have been offered to Barcelona last week and reports from Spain suggest a deterioration of the relationship between him and Madrid.

Speaking on Radio Marca, Pedro Riesco, who works alongside Rene Ramos, said: “With everything that has happened it will be very difficult for Ramos to stay at Madrid.

“Sergio is a symbol of this club. He has nothing to prove. But so many things are being said about him. There is so much manipulation to discredit his name via spokesmen who behave like puppets saying he is not respecting the club and that he is just a money-grabber.”

Arsenal

Romania U-16 captain Vlad Dragomir has rejected offers from domestic league champions Steaua Bucharest and several foreign teams to join Arsenal from ACS Poli Timisoara.

“I am very glad and I hope not to disappoint anyone,” the young midfielder, who signed a three-year contract, told local media on Wednesday. “The Arsenal offer seemed the best to me, I felt that this is my place.”

Dragomir became the second Romanian teenager to join the Premier League this month after 18-year-old Cristian Manea signed for Chelsea from Viitorul Constanta.

Southampton

Morgan Schneiderlin has indicated he could leave Southampton in the coming days.

The French defensive midfielder, 25, has been linked with a big money summer move away from St Mary’s Stadium, the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur all said to be possible destinations.

Schneiderlin joined Southampton from Strasbourg in June 2008.

The midfielder was back at his old club to help support a community event, and told France Bleu Alsace radio station he expected his future to be resolved shortly.

“The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days, hopefully before the resumption of training next week,” he said
