The National's Sport cover for the Thursday, April 30 issue, featuring Chelsea as they defeated Leicester City to come to the brink of being Premier League champions.

Covering the match, Jonathan Wilson writes about how Chelsea showed once again, that this year they have always found a way:

“Boring, boring Chelsea!” the Chelsea fans chanted gleefully, like Arsenal quarter of a century ago, appropriating the term of abuse as a badge of honour. Is it their fault they seemed to be saying, if their team defended so well nobody could score against them.

“Except this win, which took them to within two points of the league title, wasn’t about sitting back and waiting for mistakes. For once, Chelsea’s defence did fail them, but they had the quality and the hunger to come from behind and seal a victory that means they will seal the Premier League title if they beat Crystal Palace on Sunday.

“As so often in recent weeks, Chelsea had found a way to win from an unpromising position and it is their capacity to do that, above all else, that has carried them to the title.”

Jose Mourinho, though, in typical fashion, insists "we need three points to be completely safe".

“I cannot touch the trophy, we still need two or three more points.

“But the fans can’t celebrate yet. They can only celebrate the League Cup. I hope they can play the match with us and push the team. That’s the spirit we have in the camp.

“They are not happy because they won the title. But they are happy they have won one more game.”
