Rafael Nadal wins historic eighth French Open title

The "King of Clay" wins his 12th grand slam championship with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 victory over his fellow Spaniard David Ferrer in Paris.

Rafael Nadal won the French Open for a record eighth time today by defeating fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 in the final.

It was the first time in tennis history that a man had won the same grand slam title eight times.
