Next month’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will go ahead at Longchamp without Postponed after the colt was ruled out of the European showpiece on Tuesday.

Sheikh Mohammed Obaid’s four-year-old son of Dubawi will be transferred next week from the stables of Luca Cumani to Roger Varian’s Kremlin House training facility.

Following the Sheikh’s decision last week to move his horses across Newmarket, Cumani has not raced a horse in his principal owner’s yellow and black silks since.

Postponed will be joined by 34 stablemates, including 23 horses that have raced this season such as Lady Of Dubai, who was third in the English Oaks in June, and Glorious Goodwood winner Mount Logan.

“The horses are due to arrive next week and I can confirm Postponed will not run in the Arc,” Varian said.

“The horses have not even joined us yet, so I’m not going to start making plans for them.

“I can’t really comment any further than that at this stage.”

Last week Cumani revealed the difficulty he was having at training his horses not knowing when they would leave his Bedford House base, and what targets the horses were being aimed at.

Postponed looked a perfect candidate for the Arc after his victories in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July and in the Prix Foy at Longchamp two weeks ago. All of his wins at Group level have been over 2,400 metres, but he does also hold an entry in the Champion Stakes, over 2,000 metres, at Ascot on October 17.

Lady Of Dubai, and fellow Bedford House inmate Jordan Princess are also entered at Ascot.
