India's chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth has held talks with Rahul Dravid regarding the batsman's worrying run of form.
Dravid has struggled ever since he relinquished the captaincy in September last year and it is thought Srikkanth has suggested he take a break and regain his form in the domestic league.
His teammates have been quick to stand by the former skipper with Sachin Tendulkar leading the chorus of support.
Tendulkar said: "He is a great player, not just a good player. This is not the first time a cricketer has faced such problems. Sometimes you are at your peak and at other times you are down. It happens to all players at some point. Even I have had my ups and downs."
