Ty Wigginton hit two home runs and Brad Bergesen pitched his first complete game to lead the Baltimore Orioles to a thumping 11-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. In Toronto it was a very similar story as Ronny Paulino hit two home runs and Josh Johnson pitched his second complete game of the season in the Florida Marlins' 11-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Robinzon Diaz drove in three runs and Ross Ohlendorf (6-5) limited Detroit to one run and two hits over six innings as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Tigers 6-3.
Mark Buehrle hit his first career home run to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 5-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Tampa Bay Rays completed their sweep of the Washington Nationals with a 5-4 win, with Gabe Kaplar hitting a home run and three RBIs, while Ryan Theriot drove in Derrek Lee with a bases-loaded single as the Chicago Cubs ended their four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Twins.
Miguel Olivo homered and drove in four runs as the Kansas City Royals beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-1, while pitcher Chad Billingsley starred as the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-3 victory against the Texas Rangers. Juan Rivera homered twice as the Los Angeles Angels won 6-0 against the San Diego Padres while Nate Schierholtz hit an inside-the-park three-run homer for San Francisco as the Giants beat the Oakland Athletics.
