The Primera Liga will lose some of its best coaches and players in the off-season.
Four of the top managers will leave, with Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho's move to Chelsea as the biggest name departure, while Madrid wait for Paris St Germain's Carlo Ancellotti to potentially replace him.
Without a coach, Madrid's transfer policy is yet to be confirmed, but the club president Florentino Perez is hoping to land a huge name to bolster his popularity ahead of club elections. A ?100 million (Dh476m) bid for Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale was reported over the weekend.
The most high-profile player seeking a move from Madrid is striker Gonzalo Higuain, 25.
The French-born Argentine has been in Madrid since the age of 18, scoring 107 goals in 190 league games for Real, but he wants to play every week.
Of the other outgoing coaches, Malaga's Manuel Pellegrini is set for Manchester City and Philippe Montanier will leave Real Sociedad. The Frenchman, a contender for Spain's coach of the year after taking the Basques into the Uefa Champions League, was only offered a one-year contract and decided to take the security of a three year deal in France at Rennes. He will be replaced by Gerard Martino from Newell's Old Boys - if he does not join Malaga.
Ernesto Valverde is leaving Valencia, probably to take over for Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao. He will be replaced by Real Valladolid's outgoing Serbian coach, Miroslav Dukic.
Several star players are leaving, too. Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is the biggest, his ?60m transfer to Monaco surprising and depressing many in football.
He will leave a club with average crowds of 42,000 which had reached the Champions League to play for one which attracted an average of 5,086 last season and who will not play in European competition. Tax-free wages are a major incentive, plus influence from third-party ownership.
Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, 27, is expected to join Manchester City after spending his life at his hometown club.
There will be big-name departures from Barcelona, too. David Villa will leave - three English Premier League clubs, believed to be Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool have offered money for him.
Eric Abidal wanted to stay and play after recovering from cancer, but Barcelona decided against offering him a playing contract. Goalkeeper Victor Valdes wants to go, though he may see out his current deal and leave on a more lucrative free contract in 2014.
Midfielder Thiago Alacantara is not happy with the number of minutes he has played, Cesc Fabregas is linked with moves away, but his coach, Tito Vilanova, adores him and he is likely to stay if his coach does.
Other top stars on their way will be Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, who will join Juventus, and Celta Vigo hero Iago Aspasis, who signed with Liverpool for ?9m.
It is a little depressing for Spain to lose so many of their best talents, but money is tight for every team except the big two and they need to cash in.
Thankfully, Spain continues to develop some of the finest footballers and coaches in the world.
With the country still in economic turmoil, the likelihood of them working abroad has never been higher.
