Indonesia's star climber Aries Susanti Rahayu set a world record when she won the final International Federation of Sport Climbing Speed World Cup event in China on Sunday.
Susanti Rahayu, known as Indonesia's "spider woman", beat previous record holder YiLing Song of China in the women's final, reaching the top in 6.995 seconds to become the first woman to break the seven-second barrier for the 15 metre tall course..
And in a bad sign for her rivals, the Indonesian, 24, broke the record in Xiamen while injured.
“My condition is not good,” Susanti Rahayu said later. “You can look at my hand, my fingers
“I am blessed to get a record. Amazing for me."
But YiLing's second place was enough to give her the overall title, while Susanti Rahayu finished the season in third place.
