Rashid Al Tayer and throttle man Majed Al Mansoori will spearhead Team Abu Dhabi's challenge this week at the Qatar Grand Prix, the opening round of the 2012 UIM Class One World Powerboat Championship, which will see two races take place.
The relatively new pairing teamed up for the first time last year at the Norwegian Grand Prix in Arendal and for the second time at the Dubai Grand Prix, the final round of the 2011 series, in December.
The main competition in this week's action in Qatar is likely to come from the two Spirit of Qatar boats and the Victory Team.
Spirit of Qatar 96 will be in the hands of Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al Thani and multiple World Champion Steve Curtis.
Qatar's Ali Al-Neama and Matteo Nicolini will crew Spirit of Qatar 95 and Arif Saif Al-Zafeen and Mohammed Al Marri will begin the defence of the Dubai team's world titles in Victory 3.
The first 90 minute practice of the new season starts at 10am on the pole position course on Wednesday to enable drivers to prepare for qualifying later that day.
After final practice on Thursday, the first race takes place at 4pm UAE time.
Friday's new timetable now includes official practice for one hour from 11am before the boats go on display at the Pearl Marina for four hours in the afternoon.
Teams can benefit from a final 90-minute practice session on Saturday morning and the longer second race of the Pearl Grand Prix fires into life at 4pm.

Tax authority targets shisha levy evasion
The Federal Tax Authority will track shisha imports with electronic markers to protect customers and ensure levies have been paid.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, director of the tax authority, on Sunday said the move is to "prevent tax evasion and support the authority’s tax collection efforts".
The scheme’s first phase, which came into effect on 1st January, 2019, covers all types of imported and domestically produced and distributed cigarettes. As of May 1, importing any type of cigarettes without the digital marks will be prohibited.
He said the latest phase will see imported and locally produced shisha tobacco tracked by the final quarter of this year.
"The FTA also maintains ongoing communication with concerned companies, to help them adapt their systems to meet our requirements and coordinate between all parties involved," he said.
As with cigarettes, shisha was hit with a 100 per cent tax in October 2017, though manufacturers and cafes absorbed some of the costs to prevent prices doubling.
