Al Ahli v Emirates
Cosmin Olaroiu, the Al Ahli coach, wants his players to get last week's 3-1 loss to Al Dhafra out of their system when they take on Emirates at the Rashid Stadium.
"The defeat came at the right time so the players will realise not to take any opponent for granted," he said.
"The players need to show their true character ... They must play with conviction, every player, including those given chances when some are on national duty." 5.45pm, AD Sports
Al Wasl v Al Dhafra
Laurent Banide comes up against some familiar faces when his Al Wasl host his former club Al Dhafra at the Zabeel Stadium.
The Frenchman said inside knowledge of his former club does not give him any advantage.
"Nowadays you are put under the microscope and all clubs have every detail of the players, so knowing the players doesn't give any coach or any team an advantage," he said.
"Dhafra has several new players and they have started the season with a win over Ahli. They are a strong team and I expect a tough game." 8.30pm, AD Sports
Al Ain v Al Wahda
After defeats in his first two games, Jorge Fossati hopes Al Ain can snap their losing streak when they meet Al Wahda.
"Al Ain are improving match after match although the results don't reflect the good performance of the team," the Uruguayan said after defeats in the Super Cup to Al Ahli and the League Cup opener away to Baniyas.
"We know that our match against Wahda will be tough and we will play it with great thrust to score and win the match." It will be Fossati's first match at Al Ain's Tahnoun bin Mohammed Stadium. 8.30pm, AD Sports
