Mourinho's unhappy at home form

Inter are struggling at the San Siro while the Roma manager Luciano Spalletti feels the pressure after their fifth defeat in eight games.

MILAN // Unhappy coaches Jose Mourinho and Luciano Spalletti will make changes for tomorrow's matches after Inter Milan's poor home form continued and Roma suffered another crushing defeat. Mourinho's Inter, joint leaders with Udinese and Napoli, travel to in-form Fiorentina having drawn 0-0 with Genoa on Sunday in yet another dull display in Milan.

The champions have no trouble ripping teams apart away from home but they have struggled to find creativity at the San Siro, with Mourinho especially angry with a lack of width at the weekend. "My players on the field do what I say," he said. "Probably someone doesn't know me well yet. Who knows maybe I'll take it into account when I call up players [for the game at Fiorentina]." Reports said his anger was directed at Mario Balotelli, Julio Cruz and Victor Obinna, who came on in the second half.

The Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, signed from Juventus in 2006, has clarified reports he has signed a contract extension at the San Siro. He is tied to the club until 2013, but he agreed the deal last year rather than in the past few days as had been claimed. Inter will come up against one of the league's top strike partnerships in Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu of Fiorentina, who both scored in Sunday's 3-1 win over Palermo.

Roma, runners-up last term, have more important issues to worry about for the visit of Sampdoria after losing their fifth league game in eight on Sunday, a 3-1 defeat at Udinese. The president Rosella Sensi has sent the players on a team-bonding retreat to try to arrest the slide. Spalletti knows results must improve soon if he is to keep his job. "Certainly I feel at risk, the club has to consider my position and everybody else's," he said.

"I must find a system. I need to work out a different way." Resurgent AC Milan, just a point behind the leaders after the 1-0 win at Atalanta, host Siena. Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani remains hopeful David Beckham will arrive at the San Siro in January despite no agreement having been reached so far. The England midfielder is in talks to join the Rossoneri on a short-term loan deal from the Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy.

"He will remain with us for two or three months before returning to his club," he said. "Beckham most probably will join us at the beginning of January, but this is not a given." Galliani revealed that Beckham approached the Rome outfit - a club he turned down two years ago before leaving Madrid to move to Hollywood. "It was Beckham's idea. It was the English player that contacted us via his lawyers, having previously stated his intention to play at Milan," he added.
