Afonso Alves hit the woodwork for Middlesbrough, who drop into the relegation zone as a result of their latest defeat. The points were wrapped up nine minutes after half-time as Robert Koren's deflected shot found the net, before Middlesbrough's Didier Digard was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Borja Valero on 64 minutes. Three minutes later Koren added his second with a cool finish after being put through by Brunt.
