Speculation has swirled around a move to Manchester City, given the positions of power his old Barcelona connections fill at the club. The National breaks down some of the other candidates, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
But Man City might still be the most compelling case:
“Chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain helped appoint Guardiola at Barcelona in 2008, paving the way for his tremendous success at Camp Nou, and it would be no surprise to see the former Spain international link up with the pair again.
“City are still chasing the title but failure to win the league for a second straight year could see Manuel Pellegrini leave City and give Guardiola an opening.”
