West Indies batsman Carlos Brathwaite takes The National Sport front page on Monday, April 4 after his last over heroics in the World Twenty20 final against England.

Needing 18 from the final over to win the title, Brathwaite dispatched four consecutive sixes off the bowling of Ben Stokes to ensure the West Indies won the Under-19s, women’s and men’s World T20 trophies.

Chasing 156 to win, the West Indies were reduced to 11-3, Marlon Samuels guided his side back into the contest with an unbeaten 85. After his performance, Dileep Premachandran explains how Samuels wrote himself into cricket folklore with the match-winning innings.

While Samuels and Brathwaite took the headlines, the bowling of Samuel Badree helped prevent England from producing a big score and according to Osman Samiuddin, the spinner deserves his fair share of the plaudits.

Despite being the bowler that conceded the match-winning runs, England captain Eoin Morgan leapt to the defence of Stokes, insisting the all-rounder is not to blame for the defeat.
