Manchester City FC are holding a Family Fanzone event for UAE supporters to cheer on the team when the club play Liverpool in a crucial Premier League match.

Entry is free with a special competition for one young player to walk away with a full Sergio Aguero makeover, featuring boots and kit with the star striker’s name.

The match on Sunday is the biggest English football clash of the season with both sides going for the Premier League title. Liverpool are top of the table, with City four points behind but with two matches in hand.

Fans of all ages can watch the action on the big screen at Zayed Sports City with refreshments organised by the club.

The event is on the Manchester City School of Football pitches next to the tennis stadium. Gates open at 4pm and the match begins at 4.30pm.

“Abu Dhabi and the UAE has plenty of Manchester City fans and I have met quite a few myself when I have been there,” said Manuel Pellegrini, the City manager. “It’s just so great people both young and old follow the team and support them.”

More than 20,000 fans are registered with the official UAE Sky Blue membership scheme. Hundreds of them have travelled to Manchester for games this season.

The club have been holding Fanzone events in Abu Dhabi for three seasons and they have been attended by thousands of supporters.

The local City football school has grown to more than 700 boys and girs up to age 18 being coached by Manchester City professional coaches each week at Zayed Sports City.
