MUSCAT // Milan Macala, the coach who has worked with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman and now Bahrain, revealed this will be his last Gulf Cup, after his team was sent packing after the 2-0 defeat to Oman on Saturday. A visibly upset and disappointed Macala told reporters what he had to say on the game and stormed out of the conference by saying he wasn't going to answer any questions.

"I am disappointed Bahrain couldn't go all the way in this competition and I feel it is also time for to call it my last Gulf Cup," said the Czech, who led Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to the Gulf Cup success in 1996 and 1998. "We lost the opportunity of reaching the semi-finals after the defeat to Kuwait." Macala, who took Oman to the final two years ago, praised his former team. "This is a team that I built and I am really proud to see them now developed as a top side," he commented. "I wish them well for the rest of the tournament."
