Krypton Factor test for Kieron Fallon in Singapore

The Irish jockey hopes to add the Krisflyer International Sprint to his victory in the Dubai Golden Shaheen.

NEWBURY, ENGLAND// Kieren Fallon left England for Singapore last night confident he could add the Krisflyer International Sprint to his victory in the Dubai Golden Shaheen when he rides Krypton Factor today.

Fallon finished fifth on Ransom Note behind Frankel in yesterday's Lockinge Stakes and rushed to get his flight to arrive in the island nation barely six hours before he is due to ride in the Group 1 sprinter over 1,200m.

Krypton Factor will emerge from stall 8 of nine, and although trainer Fawzi Nass was downbeat at the post position draw on Thursday Fallon believes his berth is ideal.

"It's a good draw as I wouldn't like to be locked in on the inside," he said. "I'm hoping to do the same thing as I did in Dubai."

Krypton Factor improved markedly during the Dubai World Cup Carnival and his win in the Golden Shaheen in March had foundation in the searing pace set by Giant Ryan and Rocket Man, who produced the fastest 400-metre split in the history of racing at Meydan Racecourse.

The race Fallon was referring to, however, was Krypton Factor's previous victory in the Mahab Al Shimaal when the pair came on the outside of the first eight home.

"Krypton Factor is versatile and can be ridden in any way," Fallon added. "He's being trained very well and it is incredible how much he is improving. I'm sure he can continue."

The four-year-old gelding last ran on turf in January when he was second in a modest handicap in Dubai but Nass had no qualms about running his charge back on turf.

"I don't think it makes any difference to him. His improvement has come from the fact that he's a year older, stronger and more mature," the Bahraini trainer said.
