February 2010
Fernando Baiano, the Brazilian forward, scored twice before an overflow home crowd of 11,000 as Al Wahda, led by Josef Hickersberger, above, beat Al Jazira 2-1, the only defeat their Abu Dhabi rivals would suffer in the 2009/10 campaign. The victory lifted Wahda into first place in the Pro League.
May 2010
Baiano scored three and the young goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani kept a clean sheet as Wahda defeated Sharjah 3-0 to clinch their first league championship since 2005. Led by midfield general Pinga, they won 15 of their final 16 league games and drew away to Al Shabab in the other match.
December 2010
Hugo, Baiano and Abdulrahim Jumaa all scored as Wahda became the first UAE team to win a match in the Club World Cup, 3-0 over Heraki United, the Oceania champions, at Zayed Sports City. In the fifth-place game, Wahda took Concacaf champions Pachuca of Mexico to a shoot-out.
September 2011
Mutaz Abdullah pushed away Ahmed Jumaa's spot kick to give Wahda a 7-6 shoot-out victory over Jazira in the season-opening Super Cup. Hugo had scored twice for the winners in regular time, which ended 2-2. Wahda were awarded three penalties in the first 90 minutes.
May 2012
Magrao, Baiano and Haider Ali scored as Wahda beat Jazira in the Abu Dhabi derby, their last home game of the season. Jazira took the lead through Abdullah Mousa. It was thought to be the farewell game at Al Nahyan Stadium for Hickersberger, who returned to Austria a few days later.

Countdown to Zero exhibition will show how disease can be beaten
Countdown to Zero: Defeating Disease, an international multimedia exhibition created by the American Museum of National History in collaboration with The Carter Center, will open in Abu Dhabi a month before Reaching the Last Mile.
Opening on October 15 and running until November 15, the free exhibition opens at The Galleria mall on Al Maryah Island, and has already been seen at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
