Manu Ginobili has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season and the play-offs due to the ankle injury which has plagued him all year. The San Antonio Spurs guard underwent scans which showed "an increased narrow edema and stress fracture in his right distal fibula" according to the franchise. The club's website also said: "No timeline has been determined for Ginobili's return to the court."
Ginobili did return momentarily to the Spurs line-up late last month after missing 19 games after the All-Star break. However, he failed to feature in the fourth quarter in Monday's loss at Cleveland. Ginobili averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 44 regular season contests for the Spurs, who hold the top spot in the Southwest Division and the No 3 seed in the Western Conference, a half-game ahead of the Houston Rockets.
