UAE midfielder Mohammed Abdulrahman cuts a forlorn figure on The National Sport front page on Friday, March 24 after the national team's costly defeat to Japan in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
The UAE were defeated 2-0 at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain to leave their hopes of reaching the tournament in Russia in a fragile state.
After the defeat, UAE manager Mahdi Ali was quick to dismiss any speculation surrounding his future, insisting his focus is squarely on the UAE's next match in Australia on Tuesday.
