The National’s Sport cover for the Friday, September 12 issue, featuring Al Ain and UAE playmaker Omar Abdulrahman, who with the Asian Champions League and Asian Cup on the horizon, will soon have a chance to once again showcase his talents for any possible European suitors.

John McAuley dives into the now years-long saga of twists and turns in Europe's flirtations with Abdulrahman and the will-he-or-won't-he potential move to a top European club.

As the man himself has told The National in the past, ""If teams are coming from the English Premier League, Italy's Serie A or the Spanish La Liga, I'd wish to play in any of them," and yet, as McAuley notes, the midfielder – perhaps the most purely skilled Emirati ever – remains at Al Ain.

But, with contintenal titles on the line, McAuley adds, “given the dual campaigns for Al Ain and the UAE through 2014/15, opportunity knocks.”

Labour dispute

The insured employee may still file an ILOE claim even if a labour dispute is ongoing post termination, but the insurer may suspend or reject payment, until the courts resolve the dispute, especially if the reason for termination is contested. The outcome of the labour court proceedings can directly affect eligibility.
