Zamalak became the first side to win the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup in the first staging of the match in 15 years.
The match, which was last held in 2003, was won by the Egyptian Premier League side as they defeated the Saudi Professional League champions Al Hilal 2-1 in Riyadh.
First half goals from Hamdi Nagguez and Kabongo Kasongo had put Zamalak in charge of proceedings.
But Hilal hit back strongly in the second half and pulled one back through Omar Khribin.
Zamalak held on to lift the trophy, though they suffered a late scare when Hilal thought they had equalised in stoppage time, only for the goal to be disallowed.
