CHELSEA RATINGS: Kepa - 6: Had been total spectator until awful mistake with Luton’s first shot on target after half an hour when his wafer-weak wrists allowed Clark strike to creep into the net. Redeemed himself with fine one-handed save from Cornick on hour mark. Reliably unreliable. EPA

Reece James - 8: Curling cross to set up Abraham’s second and another storming run down right helped set up chance for Pulisic just before half hour. At the heart of most of Chelsea’s best work. Although, failed to put ball into stands in second half and the error almost led to Luton levelling. EPA

Kurt Zouma - 6: Looked to be struggling after picking up early knock and was slow to react when Clark was given time and space to score for Luton. Reuters

Andreas Christensen - 6: Strolled through opening with only the treacherous conditions underfoot giving him more cause for concern than Luton's attack. Reuters

Emerson - 5: Should have done more to block the cross for Clark’s goal and did not bomb forward as much as you would expect, particularly in first half. Subdued performance from the Brazilian. EPA

Mason Mount - 7: Given captain’s armband for first time, had Chelsea’s opening attempt on goal but saw shot deflected wide for corner. Superbly tackled by the referee in the first half. Fired great chance over bar 10 minutes into second half. EPA

Billy Gilmour - 7: The teenage midfielder was neat and tidy in possession, although no game-changing moments of magic to speak of going forward. AFP

Hakim Ziyech - 7: Really quiet first half from Moroccan who made little impact. Came to life after break as his lovely backheel set James off down wing, whipped in a low cross that Abraham was inches away from finishing, and then set-up glorious chance for Mount that midfielder should have finished. Timo Werner - 6: Lively start, had the beating of Lockyer down left but there was no one in middle to finish his low cross. His cut back set-up Abrahams for opening goal and produced lovely dummy to hand Pulisic opportunity that the American wasted. Poked Emerson cross wide just before break. Quiet in second half and poor penalty miss late on summed up confidence in front of goal at minute. PA

Tammy Abraham - 8: Could have had hat-trick in first half. Opened the scoring after 11 minutes with low shot into bottom corner and made it two with simple header five minutes later. Tapped home from one metre to complete treble in 74th minute, having missed headed opportunity moments earlier. EPA

Christian Pulisic - 5: Should have made it 3-0 in first half when one-on-one with keeper but poor finish easily saved and curled another effort over bar minutes later. Missed another great opportunity straight after half-time when his first-time shot was saved. Not his day. AFP

SUBS: Callum Hudson-Odoi – (On for Pulisic 70’) 7: Livened up Chelsea when he came on and his fine run and cross supplied the vital third goal for Abraham. Curled chance wide in last minute. Reuters

LUTON RATINGS: Simon Sluga - 7: Off his line quickly to stop Abrahams getting on end of through ball. Poor positioning for second, off his line, making it easy for Abraham to head it over him. Made a couple of decent stops to deny Pulisic, although American’s finishing was poor. Saved penalty from Werner that was nice height for keeper. AP

Tom Lockyer - 7: Welsh international was easily beaten to header by Abrahams for second goal but produced fine block on Pulisic cross soon after and also got crucial touch on ball to divert James’ cross away. AFP

James Bree - 6: Former Aston Villa defender produced determined run down right to earn Luton their first corner after 20 minutes and it was his cross that set up Clark’s goal. EPA

Sonny Bradley - 6: Like his defensive colleagues, threw himself into every challenge in the face of constant Chelsea pressure. Reuters

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu - 6: Not afraid to run at the Chelsea defence but give little opportunity to do so as Luton mainly chased their opponents round the pitch. Werner claimed he should have had second-half penalty after Mpanzu tugged on his arm but the referee and VAR disagreed. Reuters

Harry Cornick - 6: Tough chance after 20 minutes that attacker could only head high and wide. Saw another header from Dewsbury-Hall cross just before half-time fly straight at Kepa. Denied his moment of glory by brilliant Kepa stop that stopped him levelling the scores on the hour. PA

Tammy Abraham struck a smart Stamford Bridge hat-trick as Chelsea drove past stubborn Luton with a 3-1 win and into the FA Cup fifth round.

England hitman Abraham took his Chelsea goal tally to 11 for the season, netting twice in seven first-half minutes before completing his treble late on.

Jordan Clark profited from the struggling Kepa Arrizabalaga's latest error to claw one back for Championship side Luton, but the Blues ground their way to an important fourth-round win.

Timo Werner missed a late penalty in a frustrating end to his afternoon, but Chelsea will now travel to Barnsley in the fifth round.

This victory was crucial for under-pressure boss Frank Lampard, who will now set about trying to engineer a return to winning ways in the Premier League.

"It's great to score a hat-trick and win so comfortably. Luton are a good side," England forward Abraham said.

"It's always nice to get a win, hopefully we can build off that form now ... hopefully we can build on the confidence from here."
