Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out of Wednesday's Champions League clash against RB Leipzig with a hamstring problem.

Mbappe, 21, sustained the injury during Saturday's 3-0 Ligue 1 victory against Nantes and had to be withdrawn in the closing stages of the match.

"After going off during the game against Nantes with a right hamstring problem, Mbappe's not available for the trip to Germany and the situation will be reassessed in 48 hours," PSG said.

The French champions' striker problems are further exacerbated by the absence of Neymar and Mauro Icardi due to injuries, with the duo expected to return only after this month's international break.

PSG, who followed up a 2-1 home defeat by Manchester United with a 2-0 victory at Istanbul Basaksehir, are second in Group H of the Champions League with three points.

Abdou Diallo - 5: Got away with one in first 10 minutes when he swung and missed a cross into the middle but the ball hit his standing leg and dropped straight to Navas. Gave away penalty for stupid foul on Martial. Vital tackle just before break stopped Rashford getting in on goal. EPA

Layvin Kurzawa - 7: Sliding first-time finish in six-yard box saved by De Gea from point-blank range in opening quarter of an hour. Was a handful with his attacking runs down left. AFP

Danilo - 6: Portuguese midfielder, on loan from Porto and making his PSG debut, produced one perfectly timed challenge to deny Rashford just after break. Booked for hauling back Fred late on. Reuters

Idrissa Gueye - 5: Senegalese was part of a defensive midfield trio in first half that failed to offer PSG any attacking drive. Had so little influence there were no live pics of him on the night. Hooked at half time. AFP

Neymar - 7: Kept well shackled by United, forced drop deeper and deeper to get possession and was booked for dissent in first half as his frustrations grew. Brazilian’s corner turned into own net by Martial. Saw best chance saved by De Gea and then curled another over bar, both in last 10 minutes. Reuters

Kylian Mbappe - 7: Figured even less than Neymar in opening period when a half-hearted penalty appeal was his sole contribution. Sprang into life after break with wonderful run and shot that forced brilliant save from De Gea, then saw cut back hit cross bar a few minutes later. AFP

SUBS: Moise Kean – (On for Gueye 46’) 6: Loan signing from Everton, making his debut, brought on to offer PSG more of an attacking threat. Felt he should have had a penalty after challenge in box but referee and VAR didn’t agree. Headed harmlessly wide when well placed with 15 minutes left. EPA

MANCHESTER UNITED RATINGS: David de Gea - 9: He’s finding top form again and it started with a good early save from Di Maria. Used his area well, was quick off his line and saved from Kurzawa. The best was from Mbappe. Vocal throughout. Reuters

Axel Tuanzebe - 9: Injury meant he hadn't played since the Carabao cup game against Colchester last December, yet stood firm against some of the best players on the planet. Watching him beat and dispossess Mbappe was a joy. . AFP
