The British royal was at Wembley Stadium to see the side he supports defeat Derby County 2-1 in the Championship play-off match

Prince William led Aston Villa's celebrations on Monday as the Midlands club returned to the Premier League for the first time in three years.

Goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn gave Villa a 2-1 victory in the Championship play-off match with Derby County on Monday at Wembley Stadium.

The British royal has supported Villa since childhood and he watched on from a corporate box and celebrated both goals and then at the final whistle as his side prevailed.

He was sat with John Carew, the Norwegian striker who played for Aston Villa between 2007 and 2011, and the pair celebrated the goals together.
