Premier League predictions: Manchester City and Liverpool keep winning, Chelsea lose to Tottenham

  PREDICTION: Brighton 1-2 Leicester City. Why? Brighton went down to a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City before the international break and remains to be seen whether they can recapture their early season form. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Everton 2-0 Cardiff City. Why? Everton are finally flying under Marco Silva with four wins and a draw in their last five Premier League games. Cardiff, buoyed by their win over Leicester, still look defensively frail. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Fulham 1-0 Southampton. Why? Just look at that smile - how could Fulham not win? There are several items in Claudio Ranieri's in-tray at Craven Cottage and the most pressing is to plug a leaky defence that has shipped 31 goals in 11 league matches. Southampton's goal-shy attack should prove obliging visitors. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Crystal Palace. Why? In Anthony Martial, United possess one of England's form players with six goals in his last five games. The French forward should enjoy plenty of chances against a Crystal Palace defence that has looked far from the resolute unit of last season. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Watford 1-3 Liverpool. Why? Watford have exceeded expectations this season, but in Liverpool face one of only three sides in the top flight still unbeaten and who have genuine designs on wrestling the Premier League crown from Manchester City. Reuters

  PREDICTION: West Ham 1-3 Manchester City. Why? The Man City juggernaut looks to be working nicely through the gears and Pep Guardiola's side head to the London Stadium on a seven-match winning run, including the emphatic victory over rivals Manchester United before the international break. West Ham are much-improved from the side which struggled so badly at the start of the season, but they will be no match for City. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-2 Chelsea. Why? This fixture always produces goals. Across two league games and one FA Cup semi-final, Spurs and Chelsea scored 13 times (Chelsea 7, Spurs 6). Tottenham host their London neighbours on the back of a four-match winning run across all competitions and with Harry Kane buoyed by his winning goal against Croatia that sent England through to the Uefa Nations League semi-finals.   PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal. Why? Arsenal have held the upper hand over Bournemouth since Eddie Howe's side were promoted to the Premier League three years ago, winning four and drawing one of six matches. In Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal boast two of the most skillful and lethal finishers in the division and their partnership looks stronger with every outing. Reuters

  PREDICTION: Wolves 3-0 Huddersfield Town. Why? After announcing their return to the top flight with a bang, Wolves have found results much harder to come by of late. In Huddersfield Town though they face a team that rarely threaten the opposition goal and ship far too many. EPA

  PREDICTION: Burnley 1-2 Newcastle. Why? Burnley look a pale imitation of the team that secured a Europa League place last term and have already lost three times in the league at Turf Moor this term. Newcastle looked to have turn things around after a similar season of hardship, helped by the on-loan Solomon Rondon rediscovering his scoring touch. Reuters

The Premier League returns this weekend following the international break, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all looking to maintain their unbeaten starts.

All three are on the road on Saturday with reigning champions City travelling to West Ham United, Liverpool at Watford and Chelsea making the short trip to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur.
