For the world's top footballers, training at home can be a lonely experience compared to the usual banter and bonding experienced among a squad.

Some clubs have taken to video app Zoom so players can see themselves outpace teammates on the static bike and keep spirits high.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, has made a very youthful addition to his regime during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Egyptian posted a video of his latest workout, which included young daughter, Makka.

The pair took to Salah's expansive garden, warming up with some lengths on the grass before he took Makka over his shoulders to provide extra weight for some squats. They then finished the clip with ball work.

Makka has become a popular addition to the Liverpool scene in recent seasons, first starring on the pitch at Anfield after the final game of the 2018/19 season, and then making an appearance on the turf at the Champions League final in Madrid in June 2019.

The Premier League season is currently on hold and won't resume until it is deemed "safe and appropriate to so do", the league said.

It added on Friday that clubs will consult with their players over a proposed 30 per cent reduction in wages.

The consultation comes after the UK health secretary Matt Hancock urged players to make a contribution as millions of workers face hardship with the closure of businesses and the furloughing of staff.
